It has taken me almost whole week to figure out how to put thoughts into words.
Not much has been new, my tumblr friends. I got a serving job at California Pizza Kitchen which is pretty sick, as it’s located on the upper east side…can we say good tippers?! I’m also in school full time and actually doing extremely well. I hope to have my degree in less than two years! The boyfriend and pup are great and my family and friends have never been better. So we can say life is pretty sweet ey? Well, for me, it’s about to get a lot damn sweeter.
My brother had texted me a couple of weeks ago, saying to keep a certain Monday free because he was surprising me with my early Christmas gift. I pretty much struggled for weeks trying to figure out what it could possibly be. A concert? A football game? A movie? Couldn’t figure it out.
AND THEN I RECEIVE THIS:
LIKE WHAT? I freaked basically. I’ve been listening to Blink 182 for over 15 years, and yeah, it was a pretty big deal for me.
So what it was… It was a signing for the new Angels and Airwaves album. Given, the age demographic of the line were mainly teenage girls, but who cared!!!!! As we approached the front of the line, security told us that we can’t take pictures. I was a tiny bit crushed, but I didn’t let that bring me down.
We get closer to the band, and I notice that no one is really talking to them. Most of the girls were all googly eyed and starstruck while I heard the typical high fives from guys. I told myself… if I can’t get a picture, I’m totally gonna talk to him.
So I did.
He is so inspiring. I told him how I was struggling to try to work in the music business and how I want to change things around… and he was like “Just don’t give up… we need more people in this business.” He then proceeded to thank me and he seemed stoked that someone actually said something relevant to him.
The rest of the band was rather awesome as well. Super friendly guys, all gave me handshakes and proceeded to joke around…. HONESTLY, just a great experience.
Andrew (my bro), thank you so much. You really know what your sister like!!! :D
